Cypraeidae

The Cypraeidae or so called cowries are very popular with collectors. All specimens of this family have extremely glossy colorful shells and are often call "gems of the sea". Specialists say, there are 227 species and a lot of subspecies and many forms of the Cypraeidae have been described over time.  Cypraeidae are also dwellers in the shallow to deep water in the tropical and subtropical seas.
