Cardboard Ornaments
German city of Dresden was the homeland of silver and golden painted cardboard Christmas ornaments. First Dresden embossed pressed cardboard decorations were made in 1890s, but probably it is happened some early. Cardboard animals, fruits, people figures became very popular among German children. People loved to decorate their evergreen Xmas trees with Dresden cardboard pieces as well as glass and cotton decorations. Also, pressed cardboard ornaments used on birthday’s parties and weddings as well.
