Ancient American Artifacts
Hello to all. My name is Robert Marchiselli and I've been collecting all sorts of things since I was a small child. I started collecting shells and coins when I was 4 years old and Indian relics since I was 10 or 11. I have been focusing on shells and coins for the majority of the last 10 years and I sell Specimen shells and Coins via my website and eBay. A big thing that got me back into collecting artifacts and sharing knowledge is that in my dealings with fellow shell collectors I came across the original artifact cases of Major Robinson. These are now in my workshop and are seeing much use. Another factor, the most important, is my Father. His research, reading, collection and wealth of information is fascinating. This part of my website will focus on Indian Relics, specifically Florida and the Southeast as the cultures were very much the same and shared many of the same projectile point types and tools. Click Here for the collection Read on if you would like to learn more about Florida archaeology. I will attempt to reconstruct with this website a summary of Southeast archaeology, thoughts on projectile points and tools, and fascinating facts and theories about the early peoples of this land. Please start with the
Time Periods and Cultures.
Paleo - Indian approx 12,000 B.C
this will be linked to pages specifically investigating these different periods. Projectile point types are listed in the earliest period that they appear. Keep in mind that many of the types overlap and may carry over into other periods. This is especially true of later periods. Hopefully I can provide a very educational perspective for students and researchers. I would also like to ask for your help and input as this site is unfolding. Please email me at randttre@tampaby.rr.com. I will probably need to ask for the expert's views on topics and the use of maps and various other materials.
